Biteable Beauty

Last year I was delighted to be invited back to Ayurveda Pura Day Spa to interview Dr Deepa Apte and experience the Shirodhara treament. I will be publishing the interview soon (got so many videos to edit!!) and the Shirodhara treatment review will be published on my new blog spot over on Wahanda’s blog! In the meantime, I thought I would write about the products I was gifted and purchased on my visit to Ayuveda Pura.

FIRST UP, AYUVEDA PURA HOLISTIC ESSENTIALS SKIN-RADIANCE EXFOLIATING CREAM

I love this exfoliator! It represents such good value for money as well, a huge 200ml tub for just £10.79! I’ve been using this product for some time now and I’ve barely made a dent in the cream. It will last for ages. Upon first examination of the product, it looks just like a smooth cream, you can’t see the microbeads made of jojoba oil and sorbitol. But once applied to the skin you can feel them working their magic! This cream is designed for normal to oily skin, and I wouldn’t usually expect a creamy product to do this, but it is very effective. The essential oil blend of Juniper, Geranium and Mandarin is wonderfully uplifting, this is without a doubt a real feel-good product. Some slightly less common ingredients within the blend are –

  • Thistle Oil – otherwise known as Safflower Oil (which you probably see more commonly written in the ingredients list!) – is rich in omega 6, 3 and natural vitamin E.
  • Neem – also rich in omegas and vitamin E, Neem has antiviral, anti-fungal, antibacterial, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.
  • Tulsi – great for purifying acne-prone skin and clearing congested pores.

NEXT, AYURVEDA PURA HOLISTIC ESSENTIALS RADIANCE ROSE WATER

I bought this product after during my interview with Dr Deepa shared with me that in Ayurveda Rose Water is used today to cool the fire energy; it soothes the eyes at the end of the day, something particularly important if, like me, you are doing much of your work at a computer! As well as this, Rose Water helps balance moisture levels in the skin, improves skin and muscle tone, reduces wrinkles and tightens pores, prevents acne and pimples, reduces redness and blotchiness, promotes emotional wellbeing and has a de-stressing effect, helping you to sleep better. Not that I need much help with that these days! I have been applying a small amount to two cotton wool pads when I get home from work and laying down with them on my eyes for five minutes, before using to remove makeup and any remains of the day. It’s a super relaxing ritual! In the morning, I’ve also been using as a toner…
